Presentation Title:

The relation between mucosal systems and breast cancer

Abstract

In the past decade, research on mucosal immunology in breast cancer has revealed immune responses within the tumor microenvironment and their impact on tumor progression. Important findings are still developing and have to be potential research. Following the PRISMA guideline, our literature review investigated the mucosal immune systems on breast cancer. Using the PICO framework, a literature search was conducted on the Pubmed database. A total 76 open access articles were identified using the specific keywords. Out of which 23 articles passed filtering and screening for inclusion in the review. The data then mapped using the bibliometrics analysis to identify the correlation of co-occurrence. From our findings, gastrointestinal microbiomes are known to be a potential immune system that may impact breast cancer development. Mucosal components modulate immune responses and influence cancer development through immune surveillance, inflammation, and immune evasion.
