Title: Possibilities of transarterial chemoembolization with drug-eluting microspheres in the treatment of tumors of the female reproductive system complicated by bleeding

Abstract

80 women with primary cancers and 20 women with recurrent cancers of the reproductive system complicated by bleeding underwent 100 drug-eluting microsphere transarterial chemoembolization (DEM-TACE). The results of therapy were evaluated on ?RI. Hemostasis was achieved within 1 day. All women after 14-21 days showed a decrease in the size of the tumor, there was no progression. This made it possible to perform surgical treatment of 57 women, although the stage of the disease was initially unresectable. The remaining patients received chemotherapy and radiation therapy, while there was no recurrence of tumor bleeding and no increase in side effects. Thus, DEM-TACE not only eliminated the threat to life, but also expanded the options for anticancer therapy for primary and recurrent tumors of the female reproductive system.
