The Relationship of Neoadjuvant Taxanes, Anthracyclines, Cyclophosphamide Chemotherapy on Nutritional Status Based on Body Mass Index (BMI) and Albumin Measurements in Locally Advanced Stage Breast Cancer Patientsin Bahteramas Hospital Kendari

Abstract

TAC neoadjuvant chemotherapy for locally advanced breast cancer can cause nausea and reduced appetite, affecting nutritional status. This study analyzed 41 patients at Bahteramas Kendari Hospital (2023–2024) by comparing BMI and albumin levels before and after chemotherapy. Results showed a decrease in normal BMI (34.1% to 31.7%) and obesity rates (34.1% to 19.5%). Albumin levels also dropped, with normal levels decreasing from 92.7% to 58.5%. TAC chemotherapy significantly impacts nutritional status, emphasizing the need for proper monitoring and management.
